The University of Cambridge is one of the oldest and most distinguished universities in the world. It has been in existence since 1209 and today more than 25% of our undergraduates (around 3,100 students) are from outside the UK, representing around 100 countries. It offers more than 65 subjects within its 30 undergraduate courses in arts, social sciences, sciences, engineering and medical sciences. Most of its courses cover the subject area broadly to start with before allowing you to choose from a range of specialisms. This can offer you much greater flexibility than more narrowly focused courses elsewhere.
You're taught by experts in your field through a combination of lectures, practicals (where relevant), seminars, and regular small-group tuition known as 'supervision'. These allow you to explore course material in much greater depth, investigate new approaches, receive regular feedback and clarify anything you're unsure about. Its teaching staff includes many national and world subject leaders; and as well as lectures, seminars and practicals, you receive more personal tuition through the supervision system.
