Mrs. Dalloway by Virginia Woolf, included on TIME Magazine's list of the 100 best English-language novels written since its first issue in 1923, is a novel that details a day in the life of Mrs. Clarissa Dalloway, a fictional upper-class woman in post-First World War England.


Along with being widely regarded as one of the best-known novels by Virginia Woolf, it is also considered one of the best British novels of the last century. The novel deals with various themes like Existentialism, Feminism, Mental Health, Homosexuality, etc.


The story is primarily set in one day but moves across various times in the past of various characters. It starts with Clarissa Dalloway, the main character, goes around London one morning to shop for various things for a party that she was hosting that evening. During the story, Woolf delves deep into the psyche of various characters.
